Saved By His Life

Saved (healed) by His life
It's important right off the top for anyone seeking to understand the Bible that the word 'saved' means healed.
Think about it. If being saved simply meant being rescued out of this world and taken to heaven what good would that do? Taking broken people to another location wouldn't solve anything because our brokenness would come with us. We need more than a change of scenery, we need knew hearts and minds. We need healing. Healing from what exactly?
Adam and Eve sinned simply because they did not trust. That act of not trusting lead to shame, fear, and separation from God but we must never forget the root cause was lack of trust. The devil himself set out on his path of rebellion and destruction because of a lack of trust.
God will always be God. He will always rule the universe and His thoughts and ways will always be higher than ours. In short we will always be in a position of trust with God. Heaven, eternal life, the end of sin, none of that will change this fact.
The only way peace and harmony can be restored in us and in the universe is if trust is restored. We need healing. For those of you who have ever experienced broken trust you know how difficult healing that trust can be.
Jesus is God's demonstration that we can trust Him. He is heaven's declaration that God wants us back. He is the Gift that shouts throughout the earth "I forgive you!"

When Paul writes "much more we will be saved (healed) by His life" he is talking about relationship. We do not worship a dead Jesus. He lived here as one of us and now He lives in heaven preparing them for our arrival. Until you and I begin to walk with Him as the disciples did we will never learn to trust, we will never heal. The walk of faith is frightening precisely because it requires trust. It is a daily surrendering of control. It is a step by step handing over of our life to Someone else.
It may require changing jobs, changing location, changing the food we eat, the company we keep. He may call us to open wounds we've ignored for years. He may ask us to do the impossible. Whatever the journey it is designed for our healing. It is custom tailored to restore our trust.
Today if you hear His voice do not harden your heart - Trust him...
