2:6 However, we speak
wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the
rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 But we speak the wisdom of God
in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,
8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not
have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor
ear heard,
Nor have entered into
the heart of man
The things which God
has prepared for those who love Him.”
Wisdom.
According to Wikipedia: Wisdom or sapience is the ability to
think and act using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense, and
insight.
My dad taught me that knowledge is having the information and
wisdom was knowing what to do with it.
Good Idea…
Christopher Lowcock was under house arrest in England on drug
and weapons charges. To make sure he would not violate curfew, police attached
an electronic tag to his leg.
Too Bad It Didn’t Work!
Police attached the tag to Lowcock’s prosthetic leg, which
Lowcock easily removed in order to enjoy an evening out on the town. —Source:

We think we're wise. If we truly were many of the messes we
face as a society would have never existed to begin with. Paul said he didn't
come to Corinth preaching the wisdom of men. He came to tell them the simple
story of Jesus. However that story involves a wisdom far greater than our own
which is why so many reject it.
The wisdom Paul is referring to is Christ Himself. For
millenia men had been devising ways to get back to God or at least win His
favour. This pursuit turned the wisdom of God (Jesus) into self-obsession folly
(offering sacrifices to God to appease His wrath). From the very start God
taught humanity to offer sacrifices. They were a symbol of the One who was to
come (Jesus). Instead we started doing horrific things, even offering our own
children, completely missing the point. Why? Because our wisdom says we messed
up therefore we must pay. God's wisdom says you messed up but you can't pay so
I will.
That's what Paul meant when he quoted "No eye has seen,
no ear has heard, and no mind can conceive of things which God has prepared for
those who love Him." Jesus is beyond our wisdom. His mercy and grace are
unfathomable. His love is deeper and wider than any we have ever known. The
wisest human mind is not up to the task of searching out and comprehending His
goodness. Jesus is the wisdom of God. He is the answer to our great dilemma and
yet many many of us pass Him by and treat His sacrificed or us as foolishness,
while using our deficient wisdom to find some other solution.
Several years ago someone handed me an editorial article
submitted to the newspaper by a reader. It was a rant by an atheist based on
the appendix. Apparently to him it was proof that the human body has no wise
all knowing designer. If it did we wouldn't have this useless appendage on our
intestine that does nothing but cause us trouble.
"...new research by scientists in Australia and France
suggests that this little-appreciated part of your gut might not be quite as
pointless as once thought.
Their study, published in Nature Immunology, shows that the
appendix may in fact act as a reservoir for ‘good bacteria’. These bacteria
contribute to keeping the gut healthy and helping you recover from infections.
The study’s findings contradict a commonly held belief that the appendix has no
function." Science Focus Dec. 3, 2015
Turns out that once again man's wisdom failed. It requires
humility to trust the wisdom of God over the wisdom of man but surely there is
enough evidence by now to solidify the fact our wisdom is lacking...
